Dialogue Evening on Gender Equality

Dialogue Evening on Gender Equality

A dialogue evening is an invitation to join a conversation around the topics of unconscious bias and gender equality. In our first session in November 2018, we’ve got an input about how stereotypes define our perception of others and ourselves and how these perceptions shape our understanding of what we and others can accomplish in life. We also tried to understand which perceptions of „male" and „female" we personally have and where they come from. Finally we closed the evening with collecting all the new questions that came up around the topics discussed. One question that came up several times was to understand where unconscious biases come from - biologically speaking.

In the second edition of the dialogue evening, we will deep dive into the neurological context of decision making, unconscious bias and stereotypes. Again, we will hear an input about this topic and then work on different questions that we find intriguing.

What else to expect?

The goal of a dialogue evening is not to find answers on questions or to convince each other about the truth we believe in but to train ourselves in the art of dialogue. That means that we practice to speak about a controversial topic based on our own experiences and thoughts - without attaching ourselves too much to an opinion.
