  • How data science drives decision-making in private banking, and
  • How glowing proteins aid biomedicine and how doctors use them during surgery

Topics of the night:

Sensors for Entertainment and Games by Dr. Lito Kriara
Mobile Systems and Sensors enable us to interact with the real and virtual world. They can be used e.g. for determining your location, and for interactive games. Lito will present sensor-based applications she worked on at Disney Research.
Data Science in Private Banking, Urszula Bielawny
Urszula will show how Credit Suisse are using Data Science to take business decisions. She will introduce a Data Science pipeline and will demonstrate how simple tools (regular expressions!) can make a big difference.

 

Glowing proteins and other tools that aid biomedical research by Dr. Laura Mezzanotte

Laura will showcase her research as Assistant professor at Erasmus Medical Center (NL). She will explain how glowing proteins are used in biomedical research and how doctors use similar tools for operations.*
