Self-Coaching: SHADOWS & PROJECTIONS

Self-Coaching: SHADOWS & PROJECTIONS

One of the best definitions I ever saw for a shadow originates from Colin E. Davis:

"Shadow is any thought, feeling, impulse, image of the psyche (mind) that we cannot bear to face about ourselves. These commonly include the most ancient animal impulses such as power striving, rage, lust, but also grief, guilt, left over feelings of abandonment and the effects of abuse and trauma."

And since we are not (yet) ready to face these shadows - even though they are part of our life, our biography and our development - our mind find ways to place them outside our system, to find culprits and offenders in the outer world to put the blame on.

Shadow work and its related tools and methods brings shadows from the subconscious level to your awareness, thus preparing them to be accepted, integrated or released from your mind, heart and soul.

- What are shadows?
- What are projections?
- How to identify them?
- How to deal with them?

I will introduce the basics of a shadow diary and show you powerful tools that help you to integrate both shadows and projections.

During the practical part of the workshop you will dive into the role of either coach, coachee or silent observer in order to experience the application and effect of the coaching tools and process.
