Patagonia Storytelling Breakfast - Talking Climate: Responsibility, Climate, Action.
Patagonia Storytelling Breakfast - Talking Climate: Responsibility, Climate, Action.
Join us for the first - and very special - Storytelling Breakfast edition of the year. In this edition, we explore what it truly means to stand up for climate action and to speak out in its favor. To deepen this conversation, we’ve invited remarkable personalities and changemakers who are passionately dedicated to this cause.
This morning, Elisabeth Stern is our guest of honour. She will give a short presentation and read from the new book “Als die Schweiz ins Schwitzen kam” (When Switzerland Began to Sweat) by the Klimaseniorinnen.
The message of the book is clear: climate protection must be prioritised, and governments must be held accountable. It is fundamentally about protecting people’s health and lives. Elisabeth Stern will offer us fascinating insights into how the Klimaseniorinnen succeeded in taking legal action against the Swiss government, despite many obstacles along the way.
This will be followed by an inspiring panel discussion featuring our special guests Simone Thompson and Cyril Heim. Simone will share valuable insights from her work with CLIMADA and the impacts of climate change. She will also speak about the book she is currently writing and explain why the way we read, talk, and communicate about the climate crisis must evolve - so that people truly feel the urgency to act.
Cyril Heim from Verein Klimaschutz Schweiz will speak about how meaningful climate action is still possible despite the challenging political climate, in which Switzerland - along with many countries - is backtracking on climate commitments. In contrast to this political reality, public concern about climate and demand for stronger government action remain high. He will talk about how we can harness the power of community action to pressure politicians through popular initiatives, open letters, and activism.
In line with this topic, we will also discuss how companies can play a meaningful role and take responsibility. We will therefore present Patagonia’s latest Progress Report, highlighting the company’s ongoing commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
At the end of the event, we invite you to stay for some nibbles. You will also have the opportunity to purchase the book “Als die Schweiz ins Schwitzen kam” and have it signed on site.
And last but not least, as always, this is a fantastic opportunity to connect with the teams from Impact Hub Zürich, our special guests, and Patagonia, and to network with their vibrant communities.
We look forward to seeing you there. Please spread the word and register for the event!
