Urs Leuthard is one of the most famous political journalists in Switzerland. Since 2002, he has moderated the programs of Swiss television SRF on the federal votes and the national council elections and analyzed the results. From 2002 to 2008, Leuthard presented the political discussion “Arena” about 250 times, as well as the political programs “Classe Politique” and “Bernerhof”. He knows the staff and the mechanisms of Swiss politics from the first view. From 2012 until the end of 2018, Leuthard was managing editor of the main news show “Tagesschau”. He has been the project manager for the new SRF newsroom since 2016.
Urs Leuthard graduated from the schools in Zurich and Einsiedeln. He studied psychology, journalism and social and preventive medicine. After first working in the health service and at a bank, he joined journalism in 1997 and was a member of the founding team of Roger Schawinskis Tele24. Leuthard is a private pilot and is involved with the “Friends of the Einsiedeln Monastery”.
